Hello there!
.
I was feeling inspired this morning to write down a small list of some helpful self-care “tid-bits” and wanted to share them with you.
.
These are simple things. Some come from the Indian/Ayurvedic tradition, and some are just good old fashioned self-care. Hoping that they inspire you or remind you of a sweet self-care idea of your own!
.
Enjoy~
.
Digestion/Cleansing/Balancing: Warm water with lemon. You can also can try substituting lime and/or fresh ginger instead of lemon. Morning and evening tend to be ideal times.
.
Siestas: Add in more sleep! Sleep is one basic thing that will naturally help reduce over-stimulation, and promote restoration and healing in the body. Whenever the body needs to sleep, rest, or nap, do it!
.
Sunai: Sunai is a Sanskrit word that translates as “hearing or listening.” It’s connotation suggests deep listening. Practice listening to those around you – especially your loved ones and friends. Pretend you don’t know anything about them and you are eager to hear what they have to say. Or even more, what they might be saying beneath the words.
.
Move, dance, walk: Get up every hour or so and move it! Walk from one room (or office) to another and stretch, or a walk around the block. Put on your favorite song at least once a day and sway, dance, or rock out;;)
.
Call a friend: Surprise someone with a real live phone call, even if just for a brief conversation. Share a memory, share something new. Have a laugh together.
.
Water: More and more water. Sit in it, bathe in it, swim in it, drink it! Ocean, pools, showers and baths. If you can get to a natural mineral spring or spa, all the more better. Connect with one of the most powerful elements on the planet and in your body: water.
.
With great love,
Dena
